04/26/2009: "Greetings!"
Unfortunately, we're not going to be able to accept new orders until after Christmas. Because we handmake our collars, the orders we already have are going to keep us busy until then. We're very sorry if you were planning to order from us, but we'd rather be honest than disappoint people by not getting the collars made in time.
Please note that if you're already talking to us about a collar, things will be completed as normal.
Hi and welcome to celtichound collars. I am Tara and as I am half Scottish deerhound and half Irish wolfhound I am the original celtichound.
My human mum makes collars and I am going to tell you a bit about them while mum and dad get a proper web site up and running.

Mum makes these hand made leather collars and leads. She decided to start making them as she felt that there was a lack of leather collars with nice decoration for us hounds who like our collars.
They are made from veg tan bridal leather with rounded edges.
Prices vary depending on the size and the complexity of the design, number of stones etc. So a plain coloured collar would start at the base price.
10% of the sale price will be donated to a charity, we are currently donating to GAP, Lurcher Link, SGS and G4U but would be willing to help other charities as well.
Postage should be about £2 for the first collar £1 for each additional collar. Mum says that they put an idea of costing below and put prices under the pictures:
1 ½ inch Wide Slip collar £16 - £23
2 inch Wide Slip Collar £17 - £25
1 ½” inch Wide Buckle collar £16 - £23
2” inch Wide Buckle Collar £17 - £25
1 ¾ inch Wide Martingale Collar £17 - £25
Slip collar leads £25 – £28
Leads (3ft) £16 - £26
Mum can also do linings in sheepskin and suede. I think that she will be offering more colours in the suede but is still waiting on samples to arrive to see the colours.
Sheepskin lining £5 extra:
Suede lining £4 extra:
Black, purple, pink and burgundy in stock (more colours on order)
Leather comes in Black, Chestnut, Forest Green, Burgundy, Red Purple and Natural. Mum is also looking at other colours that will arrive soon.
* Pink leather is not dyed but coated veg tan leather
As mum has to dye the purple it will need to be lined as dyes are not very stable on the inside of leather. She is looking into other dye colours but only when she has her lining supplies sorted out.
Crystal stones come in turquoise, coral (pinky orange), red, green, blue, clear, pink, and purple.
There is also a very nice brocade leather that comes in brown. This can also be dyed black but will then have to be lined
Mum has a gallery with pictures of the collars she has made at: http://www.celtichound.co.uk/collars/leather/
She can also do a range of different designs and examples of these can be found in the gallery at http://www.celtichound.co.uk/collars/designs/ So there should be more designs added as she works them out.
I will post some of the ones that I like so you can see them and give you an idea of price so you can start saving your doggy pocket money.
